Total Clean Units

Total Clean Demonstration Video
This 8 minute video is a demonstration of how well the Patented Total Clean System works.  This video will demonstrate rapid dewatering of Sand, Silt, Coal, and Carbon with flow rates ranging from 800 GPM to 3000 GPM.  Even at these flow rates this system will give you up to 85% dry solids depending on the type of material, a tough task for competitors especially with material as small as 400 Mesh.

Florida Sand Dewatering Sand Cleaning Video Sand Dewatering Project
This video shows how (1) Large Total Clean was utilized to handle flow rates of up to 3000 gpm. The dredged slurry consisted of sands, silts and organics and was being removed from a recreational lake in Florida.  The sands that were removed from the slurry were being stockpiled and reused in the park area. The set up of the unit consisted of (1) scalping shaker and (4) desanding hydro-cyclone units. The first three units handled the bulk of the sand load while the 4th unit primarily handled the finer material.

Some Commonly Asked Questions?

  • Does DEL Corporation Rent or Sale the Total Clean System?

    • The Total Clean System is now available for Rent or Sale.  Please give us a call for your quote today.

  • How much power does the system require?

    • TCW - 1500 - 250 Amps,  480V 3-Phase Power

    • TCW - 3000 - 450 Amps,  480V 3-Phase Power

  • Will DEL Corporation provide the operators for the equipment?

    • Yes.  This is optional.  We will provide our operators for the duration of the project or train your employees on the equipment.  Training usually takes 2-3 days.  The system is very easy to operate.

  • Can the Total Clean be used in front of Filter Presses, Geotubes, and other dewatering methods?

    • Yes, you can use the Total Clean to remove the bulk of the material and then use additional filtration and water treatment equipment if clear water discharge is required.

  • How long does it take to get setup?

    • The small Total Clean can be rigged up in an hour and the larger units will take about half a day.

  • How many yards per hour can the Total Clean System Dewater?

    • A flow rate of 3000 gpm of a 20% by weight sand slurry would produce 171 tons per hour.  The limiting factor here is what the dredge is pumping.  It has been our experience that the dredging operations are not capable of maintaining a 20% solids slurry, but if they could the Total Clean will handle it up to 3000 gpm.  The Total Clean obviously can not remove more than what is pumped to it.  Flow rates in excess of 3000 gpm tend to push solids through the system so that they bypass the Hydrocyclones.  This is due to the fact that we can not build the Total Clean tank bigger than what can be hauled down the road.  For flow rates greater than 3000 gpm multiple Total Cleans can be used in parallel to alleviate this problem.

  • What is the smallest material the Total Clean System will capture?

    • The Total Clean System can capture material as fine as 400 MESH, which is the finest mesh screen that is commonly available.  The hydrocyclones can be configured so that they make a 25 micron cut (400 Mesh = 37 Microns).  In many situations there is enough +200 Mesh material that forms a bed on the dewatering shakers that actually creates a filter that removes a substantial amount of -400 Mesh material.

  • What type of materials has the Total Clean System been used for?

    • Sand, Silt, Coal Fines, Carbon Fines, Coke Fines, Cat Fines, River Sediments, Fly Ash, Bottom Ash, Steel Fines, and much more.  It has not only been used in water based slurries but also light oil slurries in refineries that were heated to 180 degrees F.

  • How big of a footprint does the Total Clean System require setup?

    • Small Total Clean System:  13'-9" X 37'-8"

    • Large Total Clean System:  25' X 52'

  • Does DEL Corporation provide conveyors?

    • Yes, we provide Horizontal and Radial Stacking Conveyors.  Conveyors are optional.

  • Does the material have to be dredged to the Total Clean?

    • No.  Material can be conveyed dry to the scalping shaker where it will be washed and then slurried in the first section of the Total Clean or the material can be slurried in one of our Slurry Systems prior to be pumped to the Total Clean.  Either way a water source must be available to provide enough water the Total Clean or Slurry System appropriate for the amount of ton per hour of solids being conveyed.  In most cases the water can be recycle but may need to be periodically changed out as -400 Mesh solids build up in the system.  If down stream water treatment is used then the water can be recycled indefinitely and replenished when necessary as some water will be lost with the discharge solids.

  • Will the discharge solids pass a paint filter test?

    • In almost every project the Total Clean has been used on thus far the answer has been yes.  Almost all of the free water that we have seen going out in trucks hauling off the material has come from large debris like large rocks, shell, and tree bark coming off the scalping shaker.  Typically customers tests have shown the solids coming off the hydrocyclone/dewatering shakers range from 70-85% solids.
